It was an amazing weekend at Time out for Women again this year. I love going and feeling so uplifted. For those who don't know what it is, it is a meeting that goes on Friday night and Saturday, and is full of uplifting and encouraging speakers. It is a chance for women to take a break from the pace of motherhood and chores, to be uplifted and encouraged to keep going even when times get hard. I am not a mother yet but it was still really nice to go with my mom and be uplifted.
For the first time ever, in the history of ever I won a drawing, which was awesome. I won a bag full of $200 worth of Deseret Book store products that were written by those that spoke at the conference. I was very excited about it.
The theme this year was HOPE. They asked us to make a list of things we hope for, and then a list of things we hope in as the conference went on. The speakers spoke of their experiences of trying to hope through their adversities. Incredible stories were shared about these amazing women who were given so much to deal with all at one time. And the debate was brought up of the phrase, "The lord will not give you more than you can handle". They spoke of how when you are given more than you can handle you turn to the lord. I have decided that phrase would be better understood as "The lord will not give you more than you can handle without his help".
This women was one of the speakers that spoke to us about the importance of hygiene kits and how much that meant to her and her people while she was living in Africa during a civil war. She had an amazing story along with all of the others.
I am so grateful I was able to go. Thank you mom.
