how it actually happened

Christmas Eve I was feeling very under the weather. I had planned to work and then drive to Vail, where the Donkin Family lives, which is an hour drive. However due to my illness I called in sick to work and did not feel well enough to get out of bed let alone drive by myself with no food in my system. I called Zack and asked if he would come get me so that I would not be by myself for christmas with the hope of feeling better with his love and care.
Zack arrived at my house with a large gift bag containing my christmas present he had made me. His intention was to cheer me up because my day had not gone well. I was very impressed. He had made me a scrap book of our relationship. Basically writing in captions telling our story. It began with the note I wrote him just before I entered high school.
It is quite embarrassing to tell the truth, and Zack still makes fun of me for it but I was young and didn't know any better.
The book went on with pictures from dates we went on and things we had done together.
Then showing pictures of when he left for his mission and pictures I sent him while he was gone of things I was doing.
Concluding with pictures taken after his mission of the two of us, stating that I had waited...

To tell the truth I don't think I knew exactly what was going on at that point because I was not thinking clearly at the time. I saw the ring but didn't see the "will you marry me"? part. I gave him a hug and then he asked if that was a yes. I kindly stated he had not asked me and then he pointed out that it was written on the page. I said yes and then he took the ring out and he says he got down on one knee to put it on my finger but I don't remember that part exactly. I was sitting on my bed and didn't seem to notice too many details, I am sorry.
This book will be on display at our wedding for all to see.
